How to convert SVG to PNG

  1. Add your SVGs by opening or dropping files, or paste code.
  2. Choose a format. PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges, which suits logos and icons. JPG is smaller for photos but has no transparency. WebP gives smaller files than PNG with transparency, but some older software can’t open it.
  3. Set the size. A scale multiplies the SVG’s own size: 2× for retina screens, 4× or more for print or app store icons. Exact width is handy when a service asks for, say, a 1200-pixel-wide image.
  4. Pick a background. Leave it transparent, or fill it with a colour, for example white for documents that don’t handle transparency.
  5. Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP.

Because the SVG is redrawn at the target size instead of being stretched, edges stay sharp at every scale. Your browser renders it, so fonts must be installed on this device or embedded in the SVG.

Questions

Why is my PNG blurry or the wrong size?

The output size comes from the SVG’s width and height (or its viewBox if those are missing). If an SVG declares a tiny size, use a larger scale or set an exact width. The image is rendered at that size, so it is never upscaled.

What is the largest image I can make?

Browsers limit canvas size; SVGMend stops at 16,384 pixels per side and about 16.7 million pixels in total, which works in every major browser.

Why does the text look different?

Text in an SVG is drawn with fonts installed on your device. If a font is missing, a fallback is used. Convert text to outlines in your design tool for exact results.
